Sparkling Strawberry Basil Valentine’s Day Mocktail
Ingredients
For the simple syrup:
- 1/2 cup strawberries
- 1/4 cup fresh basil
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
For the mocktails:
- 4 ounces simple syrup
- 2 ounces lime juice
- Edible glitter
- 8 ounces club soda
- 1 tablespoon sanding sugar for the rim
Instructions
- Make the simple syrup by heating the strawberries, basil, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Muddle the strawberries and basil to release the flavor.
- Continue heating until the sugar has dissolved then strain the liquid and let it cool to room temperature.
- Apply the a small amount of the simple syrup to the rim of the glass and roll in the sanding sugar.
- To make the mocktails add ice to two glasses. Stir the simple syrup, lime juice, and edible glitter to mix well. Top with club soda.
