Ingredients
  

For the simple syrup:

  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

For the mocktails:

  • 4 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • Edible glitter
  • 8 ounces club soda
  • 1 tablespoon sanding sugar for the rim

Instructions
 

  • Make the simple syrup by heating the strawberries, basil, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Muddle the strawberries and basil to release the flavor.
  • Continue heating until the sugar has dissolved then strain the liquid and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Apply the a small amount of the simple syrup to the rim of the glass and roll in the sanding sugar.
  • To make the mocktails add ice to two glasses. Stir the simple syrup, lime juice, and edible glitter to mix well. Top with club soda.

Notes

You should have enough syrup left over for mocktails. It will last in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
