If you’re hosting a dinner party, this is a nice drink to serve after dinner. Coffee cocktails are excellent and will definitely impress your guests.
Ingredients You’ll Need

- Iced Coffee or Cold Brew – Cold brew or freshly brewed coffee can be used. Make the coffee ahead of time so that it has time to cool. You can use either regular or decaf coffee.
- Irish Cream Liqueur – You can use Bailey’s or another brand, or you can make your own. We use our own homemade liqueur.
- Half and Half, Cream or Milk – It is your preference for what you want to use. Cream will give the creamiest drink, while whole milk is the healthier option.
- Irish Whiskey – Since this is an Irish drink use Irish whiskey if you have it. Jameson’s Irish Whiskey is always a good choice, as is Bushmill’s Original. This is totally optional though.
- Garnish – Whipped cream and cocoa powder.
How to Make Irish Cream Iced Coffee
Make sure your coffee is chilled before you start. Pour the coffee into a tall glass filled with ice.

Pour the Irish Cream liqueur over the top of the coffee. Pour the cream or half and half on top.

To spike the drink, pour in the Irish Whiskey. This is optional. Stir well, top with whipped cream and cocoa powder if desired, and enjoy.

Additional Helpful Tips
- You don’t want the coffee to overshadow the drink’s balance, so a medium-roast Colombian coffee blend is great.
- Avoid espresso as it’s too bitter for this drink.
- Half and half can be replaced with ordinary milk or cream. You can also use milk substitutes like almond milk or soy milk. Milk substitutes are typically quite creamy, so they will work well in this recipe.
- This drink is fantastic with cold brew coffee. You should try it if you haven’t already. It is not brewed with hot water, so the flavor is smoother and sweeter, with less bitterness and acidity.
- Make sure to store any leftovers in the fridge.
