Make this fun and fruity Bananas Foster Daiquiri, complete with sticky bananas foster sauce, for a twist on your typical dessert.
I’m really not a dessert person, but I love Bananas Foster. The caramelized sugar and butter mixed with warm banana is heavenly. The thing is, I don’t really want to eat it as a dessert. I’d much rather blend it into a cocktail.

Bananas Foster is made by flambéing butter, sugar, cinnamon and rum together in a skillet. Setting the rum alight in the pan allows it to quickly caramelize the sauce, which leads to your whole house smelling divine.
Usually you’d then add bananas and heat them through, and serve the bananas with the sauce poured over the top.
This cocktail incorporates that tasty caramelized sauce with a blended banana rum drink. How could it get any better?
What is a Daiquiri
A daiquiri is a classic tropical cocktail that uses rum as the liquor, and includes a fruit, citrus, and sugar. It can be served on the rocks or blended.
This cocktail is a blended drink, so ice is added and all the ingredients are blended together in a blender.
How to Make a Blended Bananas Foster Daiquiri
First you need to make the Bananas Foster sauce. You’ll need a small skillet. Melt the butter in the skillet over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, rum, vanilla and cinnamon. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.
This is the stage where you light the rum on fire, to flambe it. You do not have to perform this step. To be honest, the sauce is just as good without it. You just need to allow the rum to cook off and let the sauce get nice and bubbly.
If you do choose to light the rum, be very careful. Stand back, and be prepared to put the flame out if it goes awry. Proper caution!

Once the sauce is bubbly and caramelized, remove it from the heat and let it cool. The bananas in the sauce are going to be used as a garnish, so remove those from the sauce and set them aside.
Add half the sauce, the rum, banana, and ice to the blender. Blend it until smooth.
For glassware, I use low ball glasses. You can use any glass you want, but the taller they are, the less filled up they’ll be.
Drizzle the remaining sauce on the inside of the glasses. Then pour in the cocktail and garnish with the banana slices, either directly in the drink, or on a toothpick.
