Ingredients You’ll Need
- Rye whiskey – We used Bulleit rye for this recipe but there are many different choices when it comes to rye whiskey.
- Fresh apple cider – Use any apple cider that you want. You can try making your own with this recipe.
- Lemon juice – Freshly squeezed juice.
- Maple syrup
- Garnish – Apple slices and sprigs of rosemary.
Hard Apple Cider Cocktail
Ingredients
- 2 ounces rye
- 2 ounces fresh apple cider
- 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 ounce real maple syrup
- Apple slices and rosemary sprig for garnish
Instructions
- Add all ingredients (except for garnish) to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a glass over ice cubes.
- Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick.

What is Rye Whiskey?
Rye is a grass variety that closely resembles barley. This whiskey has to be at least 51 % rye, other ingredients being corn or malted barley. It is usually aged in charred, new oak barrels. Rye tends to be spicier and less sweet than regular whiskey.
