A Mango Daiquiri blends sweet and sour with this delicious fruit to make the perfect cocktail.

Mangoes are one of my favorite fruits. It has such a great tropical flavor that just comes alive in your mouth. That’s what makes it so perfect for cocktails.

mango daiquiri

A daiquiri is a classic rum cocktail that is made with rum, lime juice, and sugar. Adding the mango gives an extra boost of flavor.

I prefer to serve my mango daiquiri over ice, but you can easily turn this into a frozen daiquiri just by blending it in the blender with the ice instead. We’ll leave that choice up to you.

How to Make Mango Juice

You can purchase mango juice, which will make this cocktail even easier to make. However, I like to make my own so I can adjust the amount of sugar.

If you want to make it at home, you just need half a mango, 1/2 to 2/3 cup of water (depending on how watery you want it to be), and sugar.

slicing a mango

My favorite way to cut a mango is to half it and remove the seed. Then slice it both ways, as pictured above, and flip it upward. Then you can easily slice off the cubes with a sharp knife.

Put the ingredients into a blender and give it a good puree, so there are no chunks left. Then strain it using a sieve. I don’t use the super fine sieve, because it strains out too much of the pulp for me.

Mixing the Mango Daiquiri

Once you have the juice, mix it with the rum and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice. Shake until it’s nice and cold.

Then strain it into your cocktail glasses, filled with ice.

A daiquiri doesn’t need a rim sugar, but I like to add a lime sugar to the rim of the glass. This is entirely optional. You can make your own lime sugar by zesting a lime and adding it to a small tray of sugar. Let it sit on the counter for 2-3 days to dry. It’s delicious and can be used for lots of different drinks.
