This appetizer combines sweet, savory, and smoky flavors. The chicken is marinated in a rich bourbon sauce that infuses it with a unique depth of flavor. They’re perfect for grilling season or any casual gathering.

The combination of tender chicken pieces and a sticky glaze creates an irresistible treat that will have everyone reaching for seconds. These skewers are perfect for outdoor grilling, but they can also be cooked in the oven or on a stovetop grill pan.
Helpful Tips
- Marinate for Maximum Flavor: For the best results, allow the chicken to marinate in the bourbon sauce for at least 30 minutes, or ideally overnight. This will ensure the flavors penetrate the meat, resulting in a more flavorful and tender skewer.
- Use Soaked Wooden Skewers: If you’re using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling. This prevents them from burning on the grill and helps keep your skewers intact while cooking.
- Cut Chicken Evenly: To ensure even cooking, cut the chicken into uniform pieces. Aim for 1 to 1.5-inch slices, as this size allows for quick cooking while still remaining juicy and tender.
