These Jalapeno Popper Wontons are a delicious appetizer that combines cream cheese, savory bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, spicy jalapenos, and garlic powder in crunchy wonton wrappers.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, bacon, cheddar, and jalapeno peppers. Arrange wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Scoop about one teaspoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper.
Moisten your finger in a bowl of water and wet the edges of a wonton wrapper. Fold the wonton into a triangle. Continue on until all are complete.
For the oven, place all of the wontons, spaced out, on the baking sheet.
Brush each wonton lightly with cooking oil.
Bake for 8 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another 5 minutes, until golden and crispy.
Serve with sweet chili dipping sauce.
For the deep fryer:
Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 375° F (190° C). When hot, fry the wontons a few at a time until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
For the air fryer:
Space the wontons out in the air fryer basket so they aren’t touching. Cook on 375° F for 8 minutes, until golden and crispy.
