1/2cupshredded cheddar cheese
1/4cupshredded parmesan cheese
1/3cupbrown sugar
1/2teaspoondried Italian seasoning
1/2teaspoonground black pepper
1/4teaspoongarlic powder
1large egg
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large shallow plate, mix together brown sugar, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Brush the entire surface of both sheets with beaten egg.
Sprinkle the cheeses over the pastry. Gently press the cheese down so it sticks, and you can lightly roll over it with a floured rolling pin. Use a pizza cutter to slice the puff pastry into long, one-inch strips. Place half a slice of bacon on each pastry strip.
Take one strip, lift it by the end, and twist it three or four times to form a spiral. Roll the twisted strip in the brown sugar and spice mixture.
Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and the bacon is crisp. Rotate the baking sheets halfway through for even cooking.
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm or at room temperature.
