Ingredients

  • 16 ounces white chocolate wafers
  • 12 mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • 24 Wilton candy eyes
  • Orange jimmies sprinkles
  • 36 red candies or Red Hots
  • 12 pretzel sticks

Instructions

  • Start by cutting the cups in half so you have two equal sides. Then cut the wide brim off (about 1/3 of the cup). To make it look like a hat, fit the pieces back together, offset a slight bit.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon mat.
  • To melt the chocolate, place the wafers in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir it. Continue cooking in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until it’s mostly melted. Then remove it from the microwave and stir the chocolate until it’s completely smooth. If you microwave it until it’s fully melted, you risk burning it.
  • Pour the melted chocolate into 6 puddles on the baking sheet and, working quickly, spread it out with the back of a spoon. Quickly top each with a hat, eyes, nose, and buttons. Set the decorations on in varying patterns so they don’t all look the same.
  • Allow the chocolate to cool and firm up for at least 1 hour. You can put them in the refrigerator to speed up the process.

Notes

  • We found it was easiest to cut the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups at room temperature with a small paring knife. You might have to practice a few times to get it right.
  • You can pour or scoop the white chocolate onto the parchment paper, then smooth it out with the back of a spoon.
  • Get creative with your snowman’s features! Use licorice strings for scarves, mini chocolate chips for mouths, or even gummy candies for hats. The possibilities are endless, so let your imagination run wild.
