This easy Beer Cheese Dip is smooth and creamy with a light aroma and flavor of beer. Scoop it up with chips or a soft pretzel for the perfect appetizer.
Add butter and flour to a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk to combine as the butter melts. Add the garlic powder, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
Add beer, whisking continuously as you pour to form a smooth sauce. Cook for about 3 minutes, whisking occasionally, until slightly thickened. If it’s too thick, add a bit more beer.
Add the cheese a little bit at a time, stirring until melted.
Serve immediately with soft pretzels or other dippers.
