Chocolate-Covered Cherry Old Fashioned
This Chocolate-Covered Cherry Old Fashioned is almost like biting into a chocolate covered cherry, only in cocktail form. It's a decadent twist on the classic, blending the boldness of bourbon, the sweetness of cherry and the richness of chocolate.
Ingredients
- 1.5 ounces bourbon
- .75 ounces cherry liqueur like Luxardo maraschino
- .5 ounces chocolate liqueur like Creme de Cacao
- 2-3 drops chocolate bitters
- 2 cocktail cherries
- Grated chocolate bar
- Ice
Instructions
- Blend together 4 cherries and the cherry liqueur to make a very fine pulp in a blender or food processor.
- Put some chocolate syrup in a bowl or on a plate and run the rim of the glass around in it to coat the rim.
- Mix together the bourbon, cherry liqueur, and chocolate liqueur in a lowball glass.
- Add ice and garnish with 2-3 drops of chocolate bitters, dusting of shaved chocolate, and cocktail cherries.
